HOPE THAT HURRICANE AIN’T COMIN’ AFTER ME

WALT HOAGLAND © 2008

I never thought I’d be livin’ down here

Hangin’ around by the sea

Lookin’ for love should be easy

Hope that hurricane ain’t comin’ after me

I never thought she’d be here with me

Romancin’ by the sea

She’s like that pretty weather girl on TV

Hope that hurricane ain’t comin’ after me

She can change her mind any minute

Like the ocean winds will blow

I check the mornin’ for a storm watch or warning

To survive - I need to know

I never thought she’d leave me down here

All alone by the sea

We could never agree

Hope that hurricane ain’t comin’ after me

Maybe I should have seen it coming

    And listened to their advice

My friends all say - it’s the price you pay

    For Livin’ in paradise

I never thought I’d be livin’ down here

But I’m still hangin’ around by the sea

If I’m lucky in love, I’ll be ready

Hope that hurricane ain’t comin’ after me

I’m still livin’ here by the sea

Hope that hurricane ain’t comin’ after me

Lookin’ for love ain’t so easy

Hope that hurricane ain’t comin’ after me

The only hurricane I want to see

Is the one they’re pourin’ in my glass for me

If I’m lucky in love - or just lucky

Hope that hurricane ain’t comin’ after me

HOPE THAT HURRICANE AIN’T COMIN’ AFTER ME
